crossing fingers in unison.

so, if we all cross our little fingers when we go to sleep tomorrow night (monday night) and say a little prayer for the ain't betty cd to show up on itunes and emusic, maybe this week, finally, it will, as they've promised, show up...and then we can get on with our lives and begin the grassroots movement to get ain't betty onto a movie soundtrack...

i just found pictures from the recordings sessions, which i am going to put onto the aintbetty.com site soon; perhaps this shot will give us luck in our simultaneous-ish finger crossing prayer session tomorrow night!

the broccoli in the sky

famed set designer christopher tulysewski showed up this weekend with his giant set (that he constructed in LA and u-hauled up here sunday morning) for the broccoli club. immense does not do it justice. as i told him this afternoon, every project he has taken on over the years has gotten more complex (bigger) and more intricate (difficult to assemble). though, i have to admit, i was amazed at how tightly everything was fitting together - it was like a paint-by-numbers-for-mensa jigsaw puzzle. my favorite had to be the paint colors of gold, antique gold, shiny gold...and one other golden hue i can't recall at this late hour. below are a few shots from sunday's load-in...

did i mention that clocky is totally useless at events where sobriety is a requirement?

since it seems that iTunes and emusic are determined to delay the official release of our album, we've decided to sell it NOW, directly from aintbetty.com. surely, this action will speed up our release to next tuesday, september 25, but who wants to be usurped by joni mitchell and everyone else doing joni mitchell. so our cd is available now - here. it's a little clunkier process than buying from itunes, but it'll get us through these frustrating weeks of waiting. THIS IS AIN'T BETTY!
